Our New Light Table

Every summer I try to do something fun to refresh the classroom, re-energize the teachers and enhance the learning possibilities.  This year I spent a lot of time researching light tables.  Kristen at Caution! Twins at Play and Dyan from And Next Comes L have some of the most fabulous resources on light tables available anywhere.

I started HERE, then spent a few hours browsing HERE, HERE and HERE.  I asked for recommendations on the best light table to purchase, and finally bit the bullet and purchased a gorgeous Whitney Brothers LED light table.  Ooooh.... ahhhh.  Isn't it pretty?!

The Whitney Brothers customer service folks were terrific, and our table arrived this morning.  The kids were so excited to assemble it and give it a try.  I wish that I would have recorded their excitement when I flipped the switch to turn it on.  Priceless!

My selection of light table toys is pitiful. Today they sorted clear pony beads and made bead collages on the table, and were very happy.  But I'm definitely in the market for some new transparent toys.  Hit me with your best recommendations.  I'm listening!
