Santa's Little Helpers

Our theme this December is "The Joy of Giving."  The students have been working very hard during centers making little presents for the people on their shopping lists.

This fine motor activity is one of their favorites.  They made holiday jingle bell bracelets out of white pipe cleaners and red, green and white pony beads.

The pipe cleaners are good for beading these small pieces because the wire makes it easy for the littlest kiddos to thread.  We also added red and green bells for a little jingle fun!

After each gift is finished the kiddos rush over to the gift wrapping station set up in the dramatic play area.  There are 3 tables with wrapping supplies.  The first one has tissue paper, scissors and tape.

It's amazing to me how independent the students have become with only 3 days of practice!  They can wrap, use the tape dispenser, and make a nice little package.

Next they move over to their shopping lists.  We wrote all of the names of their family members so that they can use them to write gift tags.

Of course, every present needs a bow!

They are all so proud of their presents and can hardly wait to take them home to their families!

Enjoy playing and learning with your children today!
