Washing Windows

Dramatic Play at Play to Learn Preschool
Learning about water has been such a fun and exciting experience this month. One of our students' favorite centers was washing windows.
The set up for this center was cheap and simple. I bought shammies, squeegies and squirt bottles at the dollar store. We put a $1 shower curtain and a few towels on the floor and invited the students to play.
The kids LOVED this! There was a waitlist of students who wanted to wash the windows.
The squirt bottles offered a really great way to strengthen our hand muscles. Squeeze! Squeeze!
After the windows were wet, they cleaned them off with a squeegie. I just really like typing that word. Squeegie!!
Then they used shammies (or "magic" wash cloths) to clean off any remaining streaks of water.
Of course, as soon as one student got the window even partly cleaned off, another one was there to squirt it! I don't think the windows ever got dry, actually!
The students loved this center. It provided so many opportunities for team work, cooperation, coordination and motor skills practice. Definitely a winner! Maybe next week I'll teach them to do laundry. ;)

Have fun playing and learning with your children today.
