Our preschoolers love great sensory experiences! Last week we made slime, and today we tried a variation on the traditional Oobleck recipe.
This "Stretchy Oobleck" holds together better than water and cornstarch, and stretches a bit like slime. It smells heavenly, and cleans up easily with water.
During centers, the children took turns passing it back and forth and rolling it in their hands.
They experimented with pulling it, dropping it, and letting it pour from their hands. It is a fascinating substance!
To make your own batch of stretchy Oobleck, mix a 2:1 ratio of corn starch and liquid dish soap. It's not an exact science, so if your Oobleck seems too crumbly, add more soap. If it seems too runny, add more corn starch.
Have fun getting messy with your children today!
What an awesome variation! I'll have to try that in March for my Dr. Seuss unit. Fun!
