The highlight of our month-long dinosaur unit is the dramatic play dig site, but of course we have other fun activities planned!
Dinosaur Tracks
At the art center, our preschoolers marched little plastic dinosaurs through trays of paint and across their papers.
Felt Dinosaurs
We were inspired to make our own felt dinosaurs by this idea from MulticraftingMummy. We simply cut large dinosaur shapes, and added geometric pieces that the students could use to make them their own.
Circle Time Sort
Two of the vocabulary words that we learned during circle time were "Carnivore" and "Herbivore." We talked about each term, and then sorted dinosaurs and a basket of food into 2 groups.
Dino Play Dough
Many of our dinosaur centers came from Mrs. Jones' Creation Station's dinosaur unit. The students loved rolling little dinosaur eggs onto these counting mats.
Excavating the dinosaurs
On the final two days of our dinosaur unit, we let the older pre-k students use screwdrivers and picks to try to dig out the dinosaur bones. They LOVED this!
Enjoy playing and learning with your children today!
