Preschool Picassos

Process art from Play to Learn Preschool

This project is one of our very favorites year after year -- Preschool Picassos!
Students practice using a glue stick by layering circles and rectangles onto a piece of paper.

Since it's the beginning of the year, we have to teach them to apply the glue, then turn the piece over to make it stick.  Lots of friends put the glue all over the top but never turn it over!

The students are free to design their art work any way that they'd like.  We cut out the shapes ahead of time and decide on a color scheme.  For this project, all of the circles and rectangles are fall colors.

If there are pieces hanging off the edge, we trim them for a bold look.

When hung together, the art work is so colorful and appealing.  Each picture is unique and the students are all so proud of their masterpieces!
