First, we practiced visual discrimination skills by making matching faces. We used large foam pumpkins from the craft store and small black paper shapes-- circles, squares and triangles.
The students chose a picture card with a face on it, then used the black shapes to make a matching face.
Over at the light table, there was a more open-ended jack-o-lantern center. We cut an orange plastic folder into pumpkins and added foam shapes for the eyes, nose, mouth and hair!
The students loved this activity, and their creativity was really on display!
Have fun playing and learning with your children today.
